This behemoth is Atomic Annie, the M-65 Cannon . 240MM caliber, built in the early 50s, twenty were built, 8 survive today scattered across the country.
Range is 18 miles and only a single atomic round was fired during Operation Knothole in 1953 in Nevada, firing a 15KT shell. Otherwise with the advent of better rockets and missiles, it was soon obsolete and withdrawn from service in 1963.
This model is viewable at Rock Island Arsenal and truly impressive.

One of the 8 on display!!
Problem with big pieces like the 65 is manpower, placement, transport and weight.
A MLRS can do the same, at greater range, less cost and quickly leave the area.
Of coarse the sound of a huge shell coming in on your sorry ass is psychologically devastating!!

MLRS and HIMARS are pretty nifty, but I dunno about some of the rest. A HIMARS does a lot more damage and I know each rocket costs a pretty penny vs. a standard 155, though compared to an atomic shell I have no idea. Also standard cannons can be much more precise these days than HIMARS, being able to strike a single building in a city. Rockets are cool if you want to level a city block, but we seem to get yelled at for that kind of thing. I may be a bit biased to cannons though, HIMARS made my job obsolete.
However I don't think anyone will argue that the sound of arty ripping through the air is anything but sheer terror on the receiving end.

If you ever get the chance Rabbi-Tom, watch the documentary "Trinity And Beyond."
They put together American, Russian and Chinese atomic test footage, including a test firing of "Atomic Annie."
