Angels are pursuing a mage that is after an incredibly powerful legendary artifact called the Orb of Power. It allows the casting of spells without components, amplifying them and sometimes resulting in unstable and unforeseen consequences. The mage finds the artifact first but with an angel in hot pursuit.
An old piece I came up with set in a custom fantasy universe. I may pick it up again in the future if there is interest in it.
