Item #: SCP G-003
Object Class: Keter
Disruption Class: 3/Keneq
Risk Class: 5/Critical
Special Containment Procedures: Due to the nature of SCP G-003, it is unable to be contained. Instead, measure should be taken to minimize any ecosystem damage and excessive hunting within the forests of North America.
Should SCP G-003 appear, all civilians should be evacuated as soon as possible and administered Class-A amnesiacs. Following evacuation procedures, a group of no less than 20 D-Class personnel must be outfitted with standard hunting gear, a signal flare, and must be monitored for vitals. When a member of personnel discovers the location of the creature, the personnel must fire their signal flare, before running towards the creature to act as a 'sacrifice', and the remaining members must converge upon the sacrificed personnel's location . Should the creature not have dissipated, more D-Class personnel must be offered to the creature until such a time that it is satisfied and vanishes.
Description: SCP G-003 appears to be a phantasmal creature resembling that of Odocoileus virginianus. It's body is partially translucent, and seems to glow from an unknown internal source. Whilst the back half of the creature appears to be fully fleshed, roughly 1/3 of it's frontal body is completely skeletal, and maintain it's internal glow, with exceptions made to the eye sockets and parts of the nasal cavity, which seem to be completely devoid of any light, despite it's own, or any external light.
SCP G-003 seems to appear whenever a North American wildlife species becomes close to extinction. alongside SCP G-001 and SCP G-002. It will manifest itself within the area of the near extinct species' normal habitat and will begin patrolling the area without rest. If it spots a human within the area, it's mouth will open, and any and all sound transmissions within a 100 meter radius of the creature will cease. It will then charge the target and skewer the target with it's horns, at which point the target will burst into a white flame and will quickly be reduced to ashes. Attempts to damage the creature using conventional weapons such as guns, blades, or explosives have no effect, and it has been noted that the creature can become intangible as a reflexive action, as seen in document [spoiler]003-24-A[spoiler/], or at will as seen in document [spoiler]003-24-C[spoiler/]. Attempts to outsmart the creature via specially made traps have also similarly failed for this reason.
Further study of SCP G-003 notes that the entity possibly acting as an arbiter of revenge, rather than a protector of the near extinct species. This is given credence due to the creature possesses an amount of bloodlust, and if it is offered enough humans to slay, the creature seems to dissipate, and will not return to the area for at least 3 weeks, at which point, if SCP G-001 and SCP G-002 have failed, it will manifest itself once again.
