So I dropped the five dollars for ArtRage Vitae, a new version of the drawing program I started with. I'm not precisely sure what's different but I'm willing to give it a try. So I broke it in with a picture of myself, of course, though this is based on a still of Nachi from Koati where he's excited or exasperated or at least having some emotion. I haven't set up any of the custom brushes that I use sometimes, the ones that try to imitate Walt Kelly's brushes and whatnot, which is part of why the details look so weird. The brush I started with tries to smooth out little moves. It's good overall for someone with as little control over the line as I have, but it wreaks havoc with drawing, like, fingers.
