The Hudson Hornet is festooned (always looking for an opportunity to use that word) with chrome. Even on the inside as evidenced by the door of the glove compartment. This 1951 Convertible Brougham is an excellent example of that. I promise we’ll see more of this terrific vehicle in the weeks to come. Enjoy!

Festooned! Actually a floral (or fruit) drape, usually found in wall or furniture decorations until the 20th Century. I've usually seen them in carved stone, terra cotta or plaster.
Hudson was one of the corporations that merged to create American Motors. My brother's first new car was a 1973 AMC Hornet; obviously they were reusing the older names.

I'm already looking forward to seeing more of this car; Hudson is my favourite of the "independent" American brands, and the step-downs from 1948-54 are among my favourite Hudsons. They terrorized the stock-car racing circuit in their day; they grabbed the track and cornered like nothing else. The V-8 Oldsmobiles, Mercurys and Chryslers were faster on the straightaways, but the Fabulous Hudson Hornet took them over in the turns...they won a lot of races that way.
