It took me a couple days to get this one right, though I ended up coloring it all at once yesterday afternoon and evening. I originally drew this as a sketch in an OC based off a reference from another drawing I had come across a bit ago. Then once I figured out who the pose should be about I went and started looking up jackal faces, both drawn and real. After asking a couple people for advice I went and took the sketch to Manga Studio and inked it.
When it came time to color the picture, I decided to try reading some tutorials for photoshop instead of looking at another picture for help or using a pre-made brush. So I looked into two tutorials, how to create smoke, and how to create magic effects. I didn't get the exact results the tutorials were showing, but it got me playing around with a couple new tools so I'm sure that will help me out in the long run.
