It's time to submit more landscape paintings. ;)
I got challenged to create a rather fearful scenario, something you wouldn't like to see when you look outside your window. This is my very firstpiece done for the awesome Heathen City 3 comic.
It's the first time I actually created a proper painting of a city. I fortunately had the freedom to smash all houses up so I won't have too many issues with creating a feasible perspective. It was a lot of fun painting this image and I definitely need to learn how to create background slike this even more.
The story doesn't actually take place in the destroyed city but this scene hopefully lets a shudder run down your spine. ;]

Wonderful piece of work, and it definitely made me shiver. Though with the commemorations of 9/11 hanging in the air for the past week, this actually made me think of the whole scene at the World Trade Center, which made me shudder twice when I saw this.
All in all, wonderful work.

Amazing! I just came across your gallery and you're such a wonderful artist. (: Your use of colour (not only in this work, but in others aswell) is very alive, even if the subject matter isn't. : P And I'd hazard a guess that perspective doesn't become easy just because everything is broken, but you did so well here!
you know, what's missing, is the grass growing up between the cracks in the pavement, that will someday reclaim the ruined city back into living forest, but only the tiniest hint that this is yet to be. i mean i guess the idea is the devastation is too recent, but even in a fully and perfectly functional urban setting, it's there, biding its time, waiting for the shortsightedness of greed and animosity to consume themselves.
