The full moon bathes the forest in its ethereal glow, illuminating the ominous trees, their leaves long since lost. Bats flutter about, chirping and occasionally appearing as sinister silhouettes in front of the pale moon. A lone owl calls out in the night, the familiar sound taking on an eerie undertone. The air has a pressure to it, and the magic of the evening saturates all it touches. The forest grows still, the animals transfixed by the chilling majesty of this witching hour. Even the wind seems to hold its breath in anticipation, leaving the clouds motionless above. A kind of peacefulness falls over the forest. A strange canid creature lays beneath an ancient tree, it's trunk bent with age. She remains unperturbed by the magic that has caused the rest of the forest to take pause. She is a creature of the night, and the night is hers. The magic that permeates the air resonates within her, causing the spots in her fur to shimmer and glow under the power of the moon. She was born for nights like this.
Thought I would try my hand at a quick little write up to set the scene ^^
My first commission of Fiadh! I couldn’t be any happier with how this piece turned out! It ended up being a few days late for Halloween, but the beauty of it is that it suits Fiadh so well, regardless of the date! I am in love with the atmosphere that Behane achieved with this piece! And Fiadh looks so serene and peaceful! The perfect match for the dark tranquility of the night.
Behane was the first artist to draw miss Eabha (aside from my sketch of her), so I wanted her to be the first to draw Fiadh for me as well! I’m sentimental like that, what can I say? Behane is consistently a pleasure to work with, and I love everything they have ever drawn for me!
