Hello again everyone,
I hope you all have been doing well, life's been busy but I've been holding off on sharing this cutey for to long! Everyone, I'd like to introduce you to Velky, an adorable cat dragon who was designed by the incredible
Griseo! They come up with some of the cutest designs and I couldn't resist snatching her up when I saw her; please go give their art a look when you have minute, they sell some of the most adorable characters and YCH's!
As for our little dragon though, it may surprise you to know that Velky wasn't always like this, in fact for much of her life she was a regular street cat, black fur and everything. She's spent much of her life simply scrapping by, moving from alley to alley either for food or a dry place to sleep some nights. When she had turned about 1 or so, she found her way into an old dusty book story. The place has been closed for a couple years and much of it was covered in cloth or curtains to protect from dust or other things. It wasn't much, but it was certainly warm enough for the cat and it gave her a place to stay when the weather turned sour (and there were plenty of mice who mistakenly thought they could share in her new domain). Then one night, as Vekly was sleeping upstairs, something unusual happened, a chime sound went off which woke the feline, and when she went to investigate she found a Fox Anthro with a funny hat. The women seemed strange, with a number of boxes and a purple feline friend who seemed to be aiding her efforts. Over the course of the next couple of visits though the two would finally meet, the Cat learning that her new roommate's name was Gwen, a witch who claimed to have recently bought the place (or was at least moving all her things in). But given Gwen's proficiency in scratches and head pats, the cat was willing to let Gwen into "her" home. She even got her own name out of the deal, with her first being called Valkyrie until the Fox simply started calling her Velky.
Things were going well for the two of them, with Gwen feeding Velky plenty of canned food along with her learning what a heated home was like. The Cat even got to meet all sorts of interesting people that would come to Gwen's witch shop. It was one of these fateful engagements, however, where the accident occurred, for while Gwen was hard at work preparing a draconic transformation potion, Velky happened to fall off precisely the wrong ledge and land straight into the caldron. The poor thing was so completely soaked before Gwen even had a chance to pull her out, and while she was being dried off the kitten began to notice changes. First the horns which grow in the center of her nose and forehead, then the wings sprouted from her back before finally the end of her tail grow scales. The transformation was done in only a few seconds but now before Gwen stood her cat, completely changed and very confused by the whole affair. Gwen was a little worried for a minute, thinking the changes would be harmful or that she'd never return to her original state as the potion intended. While the later part turned out to be true, the former was certainly not; Velky loved her new form in fact, being able to fly to the highest bookshelves, breath fire from her mouth (though only in small amounts), and strike fear in the heart of every mouse who gazed upon her! She even became able to transform into a fully fledged dragon cat, but only under certainly circumstances. With time Gwen was able to stop worrying about what had happened, realizing that Velky was perfectly happy the way she was and that there was nothing that needed changing. It also helped that Velky now made the perfect mascot for her shop, and if she wasn't a big hit with Gwen's customers before, she certainly was now.
Of course, every outcome can have its draw backs, no matter how positive, and for Gwen that was Velky's new size. She was much bigger now, almost the size of a house dog (or Gwen's own feral form) meaning she needed to eat much more to be sated. Gwen had no fears about taking up the challenge of course, but the life of a witch can be very busy and there are certainly times when the lunch that's served simply doesn't hit the spot. Velky's not greedy though, she knows how busy her friend can be, so she'll simply do what she used to do when she was in need and find her own snacks. It's a bit unfortunate that some of those snacks can be Gwen's very own customers, but no matter how much Gwen may scold her she'll still find an occasional meal from Gwen's client list. The Fox can't seem to be mad at her for long though, after all Velky is just so adorable that you can't help but love her; and besides, those appointments can be rescheduled. for the most part though Velky is perfectly friendly, happy to stay on her perch and watch the customers as they come. If she takes a particular liking to someone she may even come to pay them a visit, though one would want to be sure they can give good head scratches, or this Cat may find some other uses for you!
