concept pic for something that might end up showing up in my Journey comic.
I wanted to get something drawn for Layridin again, since it's been a while. Also gave me an excuse to try and work on my spot blacks, which I really need work on.
Tomias soldiers will frequently have a smaller species ride on their backs into battle, most commonly the female soldiers, as they lack the back spikes the males have. The rider is usually armed with a bow or some other manner of ranged weapon to compliment their melee abilities. In a Mage Team, the Tomias carries two large shields to protect themselves and their riders, allowing the mounted mage to rapidly close distance or gain range as needed, and swiftly move around the battlefield to flank a target.

Very neat, though the current high contrast settings on my monitor are burning this delicious image into my eyeballs. XD

poorly. I've decided to start the comic at a slightly different point in the series' time line to try and make the beginning of the comic less boring. But I also haven't really worked on it any since I have very little room to work currently. I would like to get a job, so I can move out and actually have a place to hook up my 11"x17" scanner so I can actually work on it again.
