Riding hood's shadow 13
Hours passed peacefully into the night before a soft scratching sound broke the stillness. The creature slowly nudged open the latch on the door and slowly slinked his way through the narrow doorway. Letting pale moonlight crawl across the cabin floor before his shadow slowly consumed it as entered. Silently and slowly he made his way over to the bed at the opposite end of the room.
He sat at the bed of the bed, peering down at Maria's sleeping form. He figured he'd let this go on long enough. There were always more than one villager, she could very simply just been a scout for hunters which would account for her not being armed herself. He had dealt with that situation one too many times and he wouldn't let his guard down again. Raising one of his massive clawed hands over her, it would take only one simple swipe.
As the shadows of his claws lay over her he was startled a bit as she moved, curling up a bit under the thin blanket with a whimper. As she did her hands fell from under the blanket enough that he could see her hands from the day's work. He lifted his hand again and paused looking at her torn up hands before slowly pulling his hand back and sitting there a few quiet moments as the edge of her bed, thinking.
Even inside here there was no other scent than hers. It was quiet and the fire had long died out, these were no signs of a group. Glancing around the room there was nothing that would pose a threat, even the small knife she had brought probably couldn't pierce his hide if tried. Looking back down at her he flicked his ear as was thinking, before getting up and quietly walking his way back through the narrow doorway. Closing the door behind him carefully.
