Before he was made the Ambassador to the Spontoon Islands, Samuel Hezekiah Joel Moses Brunswick was a United States Senator from the Great State of Arkansas. Yes, it's a great state, and don't be anywhere near the armadillo if you think and say different, son.

Of course, the armadillo earned the sobriquet "Marryin' Sam" for his sterling work as a county judge in Waspington County, Arkansas, having personally married off a startling 10,422 couples into the bonds of holy matrimony (it should be 10,423, if you count his own marriage to his darling wife, Lulubelle Mae Brunswick).
