This is the Weyan Star in the Edenyan Universe.
The Weyan faith, formally known as the Way of Weya, is the largest faith on Edenya. Its most iconic symbol is the Weyan Star; a four double-pointed star with an eight-pointed star center-piece. It is traditionally depicted as a black star with a golden octagon. When displayed, it should be in an X configuration with no pair facing directly up.
There is much symbolism behind the star. The four pairs of points represent the 4 Kinds; Dragon, Gryphon, Human, and Kanaen. The pairs themselves represent male and female. The X configuration denotes their equality with no single Kind being 'on top', or superior, to any other. Also, the individual points are uniform to denote equality between male and female and the Kinds. The black color represents the fallen nature of the Kinds; their natural, sinful state. The golden, eight-pointed star in the center represents Weya and His righteousness. Four of the points line up with the double-points, representing the reflection of Weya in each of the Kinds. The additional four points represent the true nature of Weya being beyond the 4 Kinds. Other colors can be used instead of gold to represent different attributes of Weya.
In pendant form, the star is made of metal and a gemstone is cut octagonally to form the center-piece. Iron is traditionally used for the same reason as the color black. Iron is a common metal and relatively inexpensive so represents the fallen, sinful state of the Kinds. The gemstone, traditionally Amber, was where the real value laid and represented the righteousness of Weya and how, through Him, the four Kinds find their value.
Other metals commonly used were Silver and Gold. In modern times, stainless steel and black stainless steel are also popular. Other gemstones and colors commonly used are Diamond/White for Purity, Sapphire/Blue for Strength, Ruby/Red for Self-sacrifice, and Emerald/Green for Rebirth.
