While it doesn't make the backgrounds zero effort, I have had a strategy in several recent pictures to simplify drawing backgrounds by a factor of a bunch. I establish the scene while playing the Sims4 and take a bunch of screenshots. While using these screenshots, I have been realizing just how much going for three point perspective really makes drawings come alive.
