I still have an issue of the furry APA Huzzah! from just after 9/11; the cover shows furry firefighters
(wolf, lioness, fox) with a flag, looking up at the flag smiling and with reverence. Some of the contributions mention personal experiences with that horrid day etc. Wish I had a scanner to
repro it (though wouldn't nec. have permission to do so)

I remember being on the school bus transferring to a tech center at the time. The bus dispatcher was going bonkers over the radio, babbling about some FAA grounding flights or other stuff.
I saw the TV once I got there. Still no clue what was going on. It wasn't until I hit Telemundo's rather spotty reception later that I heard clues, such as "Ataque en America". The morning news the next day revealed all.
Also, quite a touch of irony. A sneaky racoon as a police officer, and a dragon for a firefighter. In these dreary times it's a nice reminder of the good that still remains in the world.
