I drew my first sona again in June 2020. I initially colored a picture on paper then traced over it in paint.net. I did think of making him a second bearer of his name like I am irl as well as giving him a similar surname to mine. I also thought about what various breeds he might be. I chose wolf, lab, and border collie because I imagined him as a mixture of such within weeks of designing him. I then thought of corgi because it's from the British isles and thought that it might be funny to give Ivan some small dog heritage since he's supposed to be a sizable canid. I also chose Irish setter(D'oh! I mispelled it in the image!) because it's a sizable dog breed with luscious brown hair that's also from the British isles. Finally, I chose fox because why not? He looks slightly foxy, afterall!
Most of these species that Ivan is a mixture of, such as Eurasian wolf from Germany and various dog breeds from the British isles, are meant to represent my irl heritage.
And yes, I thought of canonically giving him a more.. SFW naked design.
