Though Anthony Bluth could not raise stars with his crowing like his brother Jonathan, he still tried to impress his family through music. While he detested his father and mother for favoring his brother Jonathan, Anthony did get along well with his grandfather, the legendary war hero and Jedi Master Chanticleer Bluth. Having a great singing voice and able to master several instruments, Anthony landed roles in school musicals and formed a heavy metal band with his friends in his last two years in high school. With no real aspirations of going to college, Anthony took his band on the road, opening for top acts such as Motley Crue, the Scorpions, Ratt, and Judas Priest. He even took on the stage name "Ben Prescott", the spiritual grandson of legendary rock pioneer Aaron Prescott, Chanticleer's old alter ego.

With the threat of the radical anti-Earthling terrorist organization the Cartoon Liberation Front re-emerging in late 1988, Chanticleer's former students were pushed to the brink trying to capture its operatives and thwart its plans for the total decimation of Earth's human population. When Anthony's mother Michelle went missing on once such mission, William turned to Chanticleer to see if he could get Anthony to train as a Jedi and join the fight. Anthony initially rejected the offer, saying that he couldn't live up to the family legacy, Chanticleer said that this was a matter of saving innocent lives and that in doing so, Anthony could set his own legacy. With that, Anthony broke up his band and started training under Chanticleer's tutelage, becoming a powerful Jedi apprentice in mere weeks. In a final mission against the CLF, Chanticleer and Anthony defeated its leader while William rescued Michelle. After the mission, William admitted that he was wrong in underestimating Anthony, and asked for forgiveness from his son.

Anthony's uniform was inspired by concept art for Anakin Skywalker in "Revenge of the Sith". His lightsaber incorporates an old microphone as its hilt as a way to pay tribute to his and his grandfather's rock star origins, and the black ridges on the bottom are inspired by the lightsaber of Anakin Skywalker, whom Anthony had heard stories about growing up.
