The golden-furred boxer looked up at his own image posted on the wall. He gazed into those determined bright blue eyes. His pose and form radiated power even off the printed image. It was like this colossal beast was ready to leap out of the poster and destroy anyone who dared look at him funny! And what did the real Dennis have to say about such an image?
“Oh no! I look AWFUL!!!”
The dog gazed up at massive poster poster that hung on the gym wall while his friend Issac the hippopotamus stood next to him. “What the hell are you talking about? You look great!” He said before taking a sip from his soda.
“No, I don’t! This isn't the image they said they would use! They told me they were going to use the one where I gave a thumbs up to the camera!” the labsky mixed breed said. Clearly, he was very upset that THIS was the photo they ended up going with after the promotional shoot.
Issac tilted his head to admire the large image as he asked the distressed heavyweight a legitimate question. “Why don’t you like this image? It looks fine and makes you look halfway intimidating!”
“That’s the problem!” Dennis yelled, feeling like the plump hippo wasn’t listening to him! “I look too scary in this image, I look like I’m gonna gonna slash your car tires if I end up losing this match or something! My fans wouldn’t like me if I looked or acted like this, I try to be a nice guy!”
“Then why did you even do a pose like this in the first place!?” the hippo demanded before taking another sip of his drink as he wondered what he could say at this point to calm his friend down.
The dogs ears drooped down as he grew more upset. “It was just a fun part of the photoshoot. The camera man told me to look ferocious before asking me to look shy, demure, goofy and macho. I figured all those requests were jut to test out the lighting and have a little fun!”. Dennis let out a depressed sigh and hunched over. “It’s probably too late for them to change it, huh...”
Suddenly, a familiar gorilla stepped behind the two and took in the sight of the illustrious image. Decked out in a pair of shorts and a sweat-stained tank-top, it was Elvis Champagne. “Hey, guys. Wow! Nice poster, buddy. What’s the occasion?”
Issac put a somewhat-sympathetic hand on the distressed mutts shoulder before answering the apes question. “It’s for his next big fight, dude. Dennis is pretty upset since he doesn’t like how this poster makes him look all big and mean...”
“Oh really? Who’s the unlucky guy whose going up against you?” Elvis asked, trying to lighten up the canines spirit.
Dennis turned away from the poster long enough to answer the question. “Some other dog. All I know is he’s kinda skinny, he’s like 5’6” and he wears a backwards baseball cap...”
The gorilla scoffed after hearing that description. “PFFT! Is that all? You got this, no problem! It doesn’t matter how you look during the fight, you’re gonna win this, no problem!”

Ok, Dennis might not like art but I absolutely ADORE it! I was on Twitter a couple of days ago and a certain artist was asking for references for fighter OC’s so they could doodle them. I sent a reference of Dennis, not expecting to get anything only to end up getting this!
Art was done by https://mobile.twitter.com/werehound21 who did a fantastic job on this! I would normally tell you to shower them with money but it doesn’t seem like they’re taking commissions at the moment so instead, say hi and be nice to them!
