Actually the Sonic in this picture is the Sonic from Cannon Sonic series from both the games, Sonic X anime, and IDW comics. On how Sonic got to Eques was thanks to Eggman's latest hairbrained scheme in using the Chaos Emeralds only to backfire and sends Sonic and his friends along with Eggman and his robotic goons to Eques not to mention all of Sonic's friends were turned into Equestrians.
