Revisiting that dog I drew in https://www.furaffinity.net/view/44359753/ as I got farther in Paul C Tumey's Screwball! The Cartoonists Who Made the Funnies Funny. And I learned the original was Milt Gross, of Count Screwloose fame back in the day. (Today he's famous for being the guy every artist who draws spoofs is imitating, ultimately.) The original dog turned out to be in a longer stovepipe than even this, and tilted in fascinating angles. I figured to take it up again, though, because it is a fun thought.
