So recently I have been reassigned to a new area at my job site (the mental hospital). One day while walking to the visiting center, I happen to notice a fuzzy thing on a weed growing in the dirt beside me. In fact, as I continue to walk along the sidewalk, I quickly realize that several of these weeds had fuzzy things on them. I take a closer glance, to quickly realize they are caterpillars. Really fuzzy ones! For days I would see these things, just posted atop these weeds. Though one day, I saw one moving around, so I decided to touch it. Just like that, it popped its head and front legs up as though it was saying "the hell?!"
I happened to take pictures of the before and after of the encounter. The result was amusing. I even have recording of one apparantly "chasing" me. My gosh, they wiggle fast too!
I did some research and determined they are a type of species of Wolly bear caterpillars.
