Macro day out at Greenwich park; 55/2.8 AIS Micro Nikkor. I love this lens from 1979. Plus it fits on direct to my cameras, and is very affordable! 1:2 magnification.

Goes to 1:1 if you can get the pk-13 extension tube :)

Just a note, this is an AIS lens, do check if the D7k has an aperture following tab. Worst case - just chimp with the histogram :) Its still F mount so will defo fit.
You might also want to consider the rarer 55/2.8AF

Unfortunately the AF version has a slightly shorter working distance, but it will have AE.... pro and cons I guess. Or just get a modern AF optic :) I used to own the 60/2.8 AF-S Micro Nikkor but I prefer the bokeh of the 55/2.8. Plus I don't need af for macro work so sold it. The 60mm is damned damned sharp though.
