In the morning, my girlfriend (she/they/he) would go out to leave peanuts to feed our growing family of Stellar Jays in our yard, much to their mischievous delight as they swoop down to swallow whole one peanut, grab another, and fly away to snack or store them for wintertime. They come on the porch sometimes waiting for peanuts and have grown very accustomed and friendly with us, even keeping close eyes on the chickens, which is super helpful since they'll alert for owls and hawks!
