True, though I find it forgivable in the earlier games -- say, I-VI. Though given the limitations I felt V and even VI did better with their cast than XII.

Man she kind of makes me wanna give FFXII a try, but after getting FFIX for Freya I have trust issues with FF and using furry characters well.

Personally I couldn't get into the battle system of FFX12 so I can't give any insight into that. Fran though, for what I saw of her, was cool.

Ah ok. It does seem to straight far from the typical role-based system from most of the other games prior.

I definitely would not get XII for Fran's sake. I agree with INKTiger that she's cool, but she's definitely in the background. Kind of curious about your experience with FFIX, but I don't want to clutter up the comments. xD;

I was never a huge fan of XII (one of only two, in the main line series, that I never completed) but Fran always intrigued me. I remember getting to her home village and hoping to learn more about her, but the game didn’t reveal much. Never got far enough to see it that was ever developed more.
