Now this is an adorable little cutie! What you see here is a specimen of the very special species of fairy cats I created for my "Fairly Fantasy" story series.
They're called Felifae, and they're very special little creatures. For one, they are indeed little, as they don't get any bigger than five inches from nose to the base of the tail. For another, they're always female; there are no male Felifae. Now I hear you ask; then how can they ever reproduce if there's only females? For that question I have an answer. I even had an option, as these creatures are magickal, so I could have simply said they reproduce through magic. But that's a cop-out, so here is the official explanation: felifae reproduce through parthenogenesis, which is a form of asexuality that occurs in some species to allow them to reproduce without the need for a male.
As you can see, Felifae are also very colorful; they sport the colors and pattern of a lorikeet, and their wings look like those of the Eastern Tiger Swallowtail butterfly.
They are mentioned in the first installment of my "Fairly Fantasy" story series, of which the first sub-series is entitled "Quest for Felifae!", and which can be found HERE.

They certainly are colorful, and very cute too. I never had any doubt they would be, when you commissioned Luthien to draw them. I don't remember if she mentioned where their colors and wing patterns were from though, so that's kind of cool to know. I can only imagine how lucky someone would have to be to have them hanging around in the garden, too!
Hee, yes, they certainly are at that. And I'm really still so very grateful to you that you helped me to commission Luthien to do this picture!
I don't think she specified where the color and pattern of their bodies and wings come from, though, but I do believe that I mentioned that myself in my description of these cute tiny little magic fairy kittens in the first "Fairly Fantasy" story. But even if I didn't, at least I now did it here! Hee, and indeed, you are quite lucky if you have one of more of these adorable little creatures hanging around your garden, alright

You're so very welcome for the help. You were such a help to me with Oseille, and so nice as well, and I thought you could use some cheering up. So, as I said at the time, it really was my pleasure. Besides, Luthien does such a wonderful job with faeries it seemed a shame to see this be nothing more than a sketch. Not that Luthien's sketches aren't beautiful. I'm still pleased as I can be with the little sketch she did of Niamh back in the spring. But faeries deserve to be colored.
*smiles and huggles and nuzzles*
Hee, well, even so I just wanted to express my gratitude again, darling, because it really was so very sweet of you to help me out like that. And you're definitely right, with how beautifully colorful these little fairy kittens are, they deserve nothing less but a lovely full-color picture
