“Calm, but alert. Relaxed, but ready. Smooth, but sharp. Humble, but confident.”
“Yes sir. I have him in my sights. How should I proceed?” A listless agent sat attentively on the roof awaiting orders as she leaned against the sheath of her katana.
She was excited.
This wasn’t just a kill, but it was THE KILL. One of her worse adversaries she had been hunting for years, had numerous bounties on his head, and was evasive at capture: it was as if he was always two steps ahead of them. He was good, too good. Though part of her enjoyed hunting him and his crew: it was like the ultimate game of cat and mouse.
Then a few weeks ago, after a mysterious tip was called in to headquarters. Her boss informed her opportunity to get him was here. He would be in Tokyo on vacation for a few days: no known weapons, no one there knew him, or could cover for him. The perfect time to strike. But first…
“I understand. I won’t attack until you give me the okay.” Switching her earpiece off, she readied her rifle. So long had she been waiting on this day.
Him and his henchmen were on vacation incognito, probably spending counterfeit or illegal money they had acquired. The crimes against him were insurmountable. The neon lights glowing made for the perfect distraction as she slinked into the shadows. She was stationed on a building approximately 300 yards away from his hotel. Their informant informed them that he would be staying there, his routine, and even what car he was in: this was too good to be true. If she did not know any better, it almost seemed like a trap…
She glanced down at her watch: 2047. He should be turning in soon from his day at the casino.
Sure enough, at 2059, his vehicle pulled up to the hotel. He was obviously drunk as he stumbled into the building, the doorman cautiously holding the door open for him. His guards followed behind, making sure he was okay. She had the perfect shot then! But decided to wait…no, too many witnesses as she eyed the doorman. Even if he was just an underling, she still did not want ANY witnesses to what was going to happen.
She put on her night vision googles and read over the transcript they texted her. Room 413. There were two ways to go about this:
She could rappel up the building, sneak in, and take him out the old fashioned way. Or use her sniper rifle and wait until he was in range to take down.
…decisions, decisions.
“Screw it, I’m going in.” Signaling her counterpart from down below that was watching on from a nearby alley, she signaled him to take out the doorman and cover for her.
She was going in and doing things her way-

A grittier piece of Whisper set in future day as she gets ready to finish off a PoS that has been terrorizing Japan for roughly 8 years now. So when she is finally given the opportunity to take him down, she is going to jump at it!!! Let’s just hope it’s not a trap or worse…
I want to give a HUGE thank you to the artist behind this piece feilong. I mean it should be a given considering the trademark style and how much I commission him- but if you are not watching him or familiar with his art, please go check him out!!! An absolute pleasure to work with~

That's right! I'm sure you're familiar with the old saying, "If it's too good to be true, it probably is...?"
That's Whisper's life in a nutshell. If something seems too good to be true, she's wary of it and approaches accordingly. She is on a mission and will finish him off this time!
