"flight" could mean fleeing, or flying. says my dictionary. so I'm sure it was meant like that, free to interpret.
then I came up with this scene... which looked better than any of them levitating or whatnot. the perspective is a bit wonky, but I tried my best.
so, let's have four gnolls, countless angry canids, arrows and a fireball vs. a shield spell, and some strange amulet that was part of the loot they had to extract from that strange mansion in the middle of the city. so strange that after they went in at night they came out at the bright of day even though just a hour had passed? at least the city guards looked somewhat familiar... wait, guards? time to fly!
