My wemic AD&D character, T'irahna...looking a little different from how she used to look like ;) After becoming evil (Chaotic Evil), and choosing to become an evil god's first priestess, her fur turned black, making her...a little more unique in her world as being the only all-black wemic now. She no longer can use a sword, but found a nifty little ice-hammer in a cave on one of her many adventures.
6x4" bristol board; Prismacolour markers and pencils.
If it's possible to get this made into a nice-looking print, I'll get prints of this made :)

Basically, they're a race of lion-taurs: They have a body of a lion, a human-like torso with arms and hands, and depending on the player or who you ask, they have a lion-like head or a human-like head with lion-like features to it.
They have them listed in Wikipedia:

And here's a good reference picture of one (I think this one is actually from one of the monster manuals in AD&D):

If I recall correctly, that picture is from the 2nd Edition Redux Monster Compendium, though I can't recall if its from 3 or 4. Wemics originated in the Forgotten Realms Campaign setting, and are typically found in the Shaar region of the continent. They are obscenely powerful characters in 3rd edition D&D, being, at first level, considered equivilent to about a 6th level character for the purposes of gaining experience points and levels.
It all started that she slept in the wrong place. The place where she rested to lick her wounds was actually (unknowingly to her) a sacred ground for an evil deity. He got into her head and has been stuck in her head ever since. He kept promising to give her strengths and powers beyond her wildest dreams, filling her head with ideas and such...eventually, he got the best of her and caved in and became his priestess. The moment she converted, her fur turned completely black (normally it was golden, but her hair and tail tuft were already black, that's what she was born with).
And that's pretty much the short-short version of the whole thing ;)
