Meet Adelaide! She's known on the street as "the tortoise gal" which she fines that insulting. Now I what you all are thinking no she's not part tortoise. She is a normal lady beagle. So what's with the shell? Well since she was a pup she had develop a disease called "Brittle Bone" which is a lifelong genetic disorder that causes the bones to break very easily, usually without any type of injury, as from a fall. Doctors may also call it osteogenesis imperfecta. Anyways doctors told her parents that she could end up in a wheelchair. Without a cure for this disease, she chances herself of being crippled for the rest of her life. Luckily doctors came up with an idea. They built her a tortoise shell out of Kevlar. So that way her spine can be protect from possible falls. Adelaide is a sweet gal, but don't mock her cause of her shell or you might get a black eye. She's a tough girl and pretty athletic. She jogs every morning and works out all the time to keep her life in a shell as a easy as possible.
