CYBER HANDCRAFTED LEATHER JACKET - Personal Project 2021
Finally after a lot of sweat and tears, and so many hours.. including a full belgian con sewing during panels, I finished (or 80% finished, still have to attach the lining here and there) my leather jacket. With a fully custom designed patch on the back, handpicked skullfish handsewn lining and a ubercool catskullguy patch at the inside , this is a completely unique jacket representing my badass fursona I've had since ~2013!
What started with a cheap thriftstore find leather jacket with smelly dirty sheepskin insides.. became a personal artwork.
What is still to be done?
- continueing the red stitching around the catskull patch
- Attaching the left sleeve to the lining (black border to be added due measurement mistake)
- Attaching the lining to the bottom of the leather jacket to close everythig off (black border to be added due measurement mistake)
- 3 silver metal spikes on each shoulder to be added
- who knows what patches might decorate the outside over the years
DID I HAVE ANY EXPERIENCE?
Nope, never in my life did I sew any piece of clothing. I've sewn a few (horribly made) stuffed animals in the past. But I figured I'm horibble at making, following and imagining patterns. The fact that the bottom and the left sleeve don't line up is enough proof of that. But, even tho my stitches aren't always straight, even tho I had to redo the lining 500 times, .. it isn't perfect, but it is 100% mine (disclaimer: design of the cyber-patch is made by a friend of mine, lilcattail)
If I ever lose this jacket I'll commit murder /jk
