Man, I always wanted to get Craddock done in a monster hunter style, but dang I legit think he pulls it off perfectly. A lot of that is probably compliments to the artist - Amayensis on Twitter - but I think that Craddock works really well with geometric-style designs!
Some of the most diehard Monster Hunter fans out there may actually recognize this pose: This was based off of Rathalos' icon for MH4U! I wanted specifically the MH4U style since that's the only Monster Hunter game I've played personally, and it's probably bias but I think that the MonHun icon style peaked in those games. The perfect blend of old school geometric and the more modern details and mythological stylization! And well, even with his extra pair of legs Craddock fits the Rathalos pose perfectly, again props to Amayensis for making that work!!
SHORT COLLECTION OF MY THOUGHTS ON MONSTER HUNTER!!!
Man for only having played one of the games, I love monster hunter. The monster designs are so cool, the combat is a lot of fun, the variety of weapons and the vast differences in their playstyles allows for a highly personalized experience, and it's a pretty good co-op experience without sacrificing a single shred of the singleplayer!
However, why haven't I played more than one game if I love it so much?
Well, I never even really finished that one game. I completed all the low rank quests in MH4U, but jeeeeeeeez the difficulty spiked in high rank. I know that you should farm monsters to get good sets of armor and weapons and such, but man I just do not have the patience for that sort of grinding. I loved the low rank experience since I didn't have to do any grinding and the game was suitably challenging for that playstyle! And even with 0 grinding just the low rank quests alone gave me at least days worth of playtime! I do NOT wanna add grinding to that.
I've been suggested many times that the grind is a lot more bearable - even fun - when doing it with friends, but even still that doesn't sound too fun to me.
So in conclusion, while I've absolutely become a fan of the Monster Hunter series, I can't really say I plan on buying more games. Nothing against them really I still think they're great games, they're just not for me.
This icon was expertly fashioned by Amayensis on Twitter! Definitely check out their stuff, they do amazing dragons in general on top of Monster Hunter content that freaking rivals the official art!
