Yeeeeeeesh! This took for freakin EVER! I'm glad I persisted though... usually I back out when I consider making a background, but in this case, I'm glad I didn't. It turned out alright, and I learned a cool new trick or two... though I REALLY need to work on considering backgrounds BEFORE I pen the character(s) involved... otherwise the whole thing looks kinda off... Oh, and rest assured, that red/orange on the tree roots isn't blood. It's fungi. XD

My babbling aside, Heiro here seems fairly aggravated. I wonder what got under his skin? He's usually not so aggressive (those red eyes certainly don't help that statement any). I'm sure he'll be in a much calmer state the next time I draw him.
