Philomela Shoulderpad [Animation]
So... some people were confused by Philomela's shoulder because they thought that it hinged on her gem.
That is silly because that would restrict her range of motion by a lot.
She has a similar shoulder pad configuration as most armors that does not obstruct the movement of the arm.
Except in her case it is hinged at the shoulder at the roll axis, the pitch axis being located right in front of the roll axis and the yaw axis being located at those "bracelets" on the upper arms.

I imagine more sudden movements must cause some momentary friction jams.
Force being applied too fast would cause an edge to dig into the torso, instead of deflecting and passing over like it's supposed to.
But it's still not bad for a gynoid built by a lone man on a limited budget, using only most of the tech potential of Edwardian times!

it was more like a badly placed sense that all stuff of modern times was born out of the blood of too many people and that they were therefore evil, he tried to go back in time and show people why that was better via his invention. He would (obviously) fail.... but for weird reasons.
