Maria froze a moment as she stared back at the lurking creature. Before taking a deep breath to gather her nerve and stood up holding the bowl and slowly walked toward him.
The creature backed up slightly as she walked right up to him as he sat in the bushes around the cabin. Watching her closely as she looked down a moment and then lifted the small bowl of soup up toward him. The alluring scent washed over him and he leaned toward the bowl a bit before slowly raising a large clawed hand toward her. She carefully placed the bowl in his palm still nervous and stepped back a bit.
The creature sat up and looked at the bowl in his hand then back at her. He could tell she was scared but still stood there close to him and had presented him with more of that soup. She gathered her courage and softly spoke.
"I wanted to tell you thank you for how much you've helped me. I hope you this is at least a little bit of a proper thanks, specially for that giant fish you left me. Thank you so much" She said eventually with a gentle smile as she stood before the large creature.
