My coyote, Spector, loved the miasma of breath and smoke naturally produced by others.
So, when he had heard rumors of a dragon who's supposedly poison breath was in fact intoxicating and hypnotic, he simply had to seek this dragon out.

Upon finding Lyrenstraz, the dragon was more than happy to satisfy the coyote's desires; though he had some desires of his own.
Where the dragon would normally use his breath to hypnotize prey to feed themselves to his hunger, Lyrenstraz was a bit more intrigued by Spector's green coloration and lust to enjoy his breath. So, he decided to turn the coyote into a part of his breath... forever.

It seems like this turned out to be a win-win for both of them, with Lyrenstraz gaining another soul to his poison breath, and Spector becoming a part of something he always loved.
