Daniel "Dan" Redcloud is a Native Americartoon anthropomorphic thoroughbred horse who provides overwatch to the stars as a rifleman in the 104th Composite Unit of the Grand Army of the Republic, serving under the legendary Chanticleer Bluth. He grew up on his father's cattle ranch near Laramie, Wyomink. When his father was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1942, Dan had to take on some of the responsibilities alongside the other ranch hands. He would officially become part of the ranch crew at age 16, working during the summer months and part-time outside of school. Upon turning 18 in 1951, Dan himself was drafted into the army as more troops were needed for the Kimchean War. He spent two months of training, specializing in how to be a sniper after having learned how to hunt wolves with his father's rifle. Once that was done, Dan and his unit left for San Francisco and got on a troop ship headed for Busan by way of Japanime. He spent one tour of duty in Kimchea, earning a Bronze Star for halting a North Kimchean advance with his sniper fire. Returning home in 1953, Dan started working on his father's ranch full-time, but the Disney Corporation started pressuring his father to sell the land so that the company could drill for oil on it. Disney continued to intimidate Dan and his family for another two years, but in June 1955, just as Disney agents were about to rough up his father, they were suddenly redirected to Cartoonifornia. Dan followed the liberation of Cartoonia on the radio, and having recalled his father's stories of fighting the Nazis in Francartoon, he decided to enlist in the 104th. He now wields a Republic-built DC-15A blaster to fight off Disney troops and their Separatist reinforcements. Dan even took his long mane and styled it into a pompadour as a way to pay tribute to his CO Chanticleer.
