Once she had a full bucket of berries, Maria started on her way back home. As she walked she noticed the creature following behind her along the path. Once she was about halfway home she paused on the pathway and turned around. The creature paused as well a moment before coming up to her.
Maria looked up at the creature who easily towered over her even with her standing. She thought she should be more scared but she was no longer afraid as he calmly stood there before her. She spoke softly to him. Even if he didn't understand her it felt nice to speak to someone, it helped ease the loneliness she had been feeling since she was forced away from everyone she had ever known in the village.
"Heh you're acting almost like a lost pup. I can share some more soup with you once back at the cabin. I'd actually appreciate the company"
