Conceptually, I like this a lot. It feels like it could use some polishing though, maybe make it so the pads don't disappear completely when the kick is going? I dunno, it's hard to pin what it is that makes it feel incomplete to me. I'm guessing the completely breaks of silence after every kick are a portion of it tho. Make the piece feel not consistent.
