You went for something down-quarter-circle‐forward punch and the chip damage got the KO before the actual move hit and meter was spent?

Hmmm... not really. You can only get a chip KO by spending your full meter on block. If your opponent has no meter to spend to get out of it, it's a checkmate basically. The Katapuly (KK, 2 kick buttons) launches Falke forward suddenly. It's very unsafe, but you can cancel it (xx) into her CA (double quarter circle forward + punch). It's a costly gambit but almost unavoidable if you have no defensive meter against it. But if they get hit by the katapult and it KOs, you never get to spend the meter, so you get to keep it for the next round! :D

I'm a very, very old school player. I briefly played Street Fighter 4 for a while (played the best player in the Xbox rankings and had my ass whooped lol).

Tekken is my jam, but I'll always make some time for a bit of S.F :)
