I have been going back and trying to reconnect with every art that influenced me as a kid. TLK, Gargoyles, Balto, and the earliest years of Wolfhome artists were formative in my art & online interests.
I still knew what drawing for fun was, before I got bogged down with any pressure for success. I have better technical skills now, but get easily frustrated not knowing what to draw.
So I went back to find whatever I lost, and reconnected with my Wolf. I've never worn a fursuit, but I do get called a werewolf (a lot) and that suits me just fine. ;)
Reclaiming this part of myself has brought such enthusiasm for drawing back, like finally being able to breathe again after being underwater for so long.
I aim to keep it this way, now that I know where to look.
Amen.
Pencil, paper, reference.
