Actually it's three in-jokes.
A piece of incidental art for the Zero Day visual novel project. So far, I've put this in front of the members of my discord, and my patrons, and none of them have figured it out yet. Let's see if you folks can do any better:
In this image there are at least three in-jokes.
Two of them are related to the same thing.
Can you figure out what they are?
...to be fair, I should also note that at least one of them probably is only recognizable to folks who lived in or near the Philadelphia area in the mid to late 80's. It's the one not connected to the other two.

Taking guesses....
1) The "iDent(RAINBOOOOOOWWWWW!!!!!!)" harkens back to another similar-in-design card - maybe early ATM or company ID badge?
2) "BOINK" ... "ALL AREA ACCESS"... "COBALT" ..... meaning the card grants access TO "All Areas" of Cobalt?
3) As to the number.. I'm guessing they are two dates.... "09 20 1979" (20 Sept 1979) and " 04 16 1981" (16 Apr 1981) though, to be honest, I have no idea what they might signify without any research, if I'm even on the right path.

2) The number "2491" under the card chip is the year Buck Rogers was awakened, in "Buck Rogers in the 25th Century", and...
3) 9/20/1979 to 4/16/1981 were the dates of debut and cancellation respectively.
I remembered 2491 on my own, but the dates below needed to be confirmed via Google. :)
Bonus fact I did NOT have to Google: In Buck Rogers, Twiki's first spoken line in the theatrical debut movie was "*beedeebeedeebeedee* L'chayim!" as Buck downed a glass of unspecified nourishment liquid provided to him. ;)

Given your love of 70s and 80s sci-fi (like mine), I was pretty sure I had it right the moment I saw the thing. In fact, I was almost convinced the "iDent" banner was in reference to notorious MST3K-featured indie film "Overdrawn At The Memory Bank", as that is how the receptionist at the Dopple center refers to the protagonist's ID card in that movie (with the late, underrated Raul Julia as the protagonist).
The fantastic, late great Mel Blanc, Godfather of all voice actors, who was literally every character in classic Looney Tunes at Warner Brothers from their development in the 30s-40s until he passed away in 1991.
Now if only I could remember who actually performed Twiki's body. Must've been hot for the guy, all those stage lights shining on that tinfoil tuxedo, with Dr. Theopolis, the damn computer brain shaped like a Flayva Flav clock medallion, and probably just as heavy. :)

I wasn't even one when it launched, but I caught it on DVD in the box set I have. I like the theatrical pilot, and the intro certainly has a "Bond girl" mood to it. I've been singing along with those lyrics to the TV series intro theme ever since. I have a soft spot for the 70s and 80s sci-fi I grew up with that will never callus over. :)
I got that covered above: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/44.....#cid:160795265
