You know, the original design for the Sangheili was to give them tails - but that made them impractical in gameplay (How would they sit/Where would the drape their tales when in vehicles/Etc...) so the developers decided to not add tail due to it being obviously phallic if they tucked their tails forward, between their legs (For sitting positions and such).
i agree with you on that one. i have to admit, i'm a big fan of the halo-series and the elites, despite the very fact that, to this day, i never ever played a single friggin halo-game! but still, i love the series, i love awesome looking full body armor (master chief) and really cool aliens (elites) and games that mix them together. i did some digging around, despite me not having played one of those, and what i personally considered to be a really great feature was, that you could actually play as an elite, the arbiter, in halo 2.
that was friggin awesome! not only are you able to play the master chief but you can also play half the campaign as the friggin arbiter which is friggin cool. i loved that idea.
and with that in mind i have one big complaint.
why in the name of holy raptor jesus did they take that away from halo 3, huh?
i mean, think about it! we had halo 1 that was just hte master chief, which was fine at the time, then we have halo 2 which was great with the campaign split between these two characters, master chief and arbiter and then we have halo 3 focusing on the master chief again. what the hell?
why would you do that? that is not going forward, that is taking a step back. i can understand if you guys are afraid of the arbiter stealing the master chiefs show but who can blame him! the arbiter is just as friggin cool as the master chief is! why not having him playable in the campaign?
sure, he is playable for the second player in the co-op campaign from what i heard, but who wants to buy a second controller just for you to play in split screen or something the arbiter in halo 3 campaign -.-
