"Oh dear. It looks like you took ages between uploads again. 190 days to be exact! Perhaps scoffing down a dozen pastries for every day you took to upload will be a fitting punishment. I daresay seeing you as a massive doughball would be amusing to me, and you might just learn to hurry up a bit afterwards."
"After all...you do like to take your sweet time."
I didn't want to make yet another journal where I whinge about not having enough time to upload stuff, so here's the brief lowdown with a relevant picture. Over the last six months I both got a new job and had a family member end up in an emergency medical situation. They're fine now but it did take a few months for them to recover and my concern was with caring for them during that time. On top of that this new job I've acquired is more time demanding but also more satisfying and engaging with me on the whole. It's taken a bit for me to get used to but I've settled into it now and I should be capable of better work/life balance.
During all this time I wasn't completely inactive with drawing but it was nowhere near what I wanted to achieve. There's a lot of art and ideas that I want to complete yet I don't end up doing it for one reason or another.
So lets work on that. I'll be uploading something roughly every week even if its just a terrible idea or drawing or whatever. Getting faster and achieving the level of quality I want from the artwork is something I need to work on and that won't improve unless I practice it.
Moving forward with commissions; I don't know how I'll approach these just yet. I like doing them since it's creating something more personal for people yet I can't keep having them taking up half a year to complete even if circumstances come along that delay me. Ideally I'll have better management with the time I dedicate to drawing as well as how efficiently I use that time to draw meaningful things. We'll see how this goes in the next few months. Even if it's switching between other things like YCH's or community involved voting etc. as long as it's done in time it'll be an improvement.
So enough whinging and delays, lets get back into drawing again. That is, if I can still fit in the house after all these pastries...
