The previous Great Chief of Wyverndale Grey Muzzle. His personality could best be described as tough but fair and unlike the current Great Chief had virtually no sense of humor. His favorite colour was grey and he was said to have had grey hair even in his younger days. His reign over the Wyverndale region was a peaceful one and was notable mostly for opening up trade to regions outside of the isle continent of Lesidia. Aside from that, Grey Muzzle was content to keep the status quo of the island and let others worry over their own affairs. He ruled for 50 years but near the end of his reign, he made a controversial decision to do away with the traditional inheritance of leadership from father to son as Grey Muzzle had no mate and no heirs. He solved this problem by instituting a vote based system that stipulated that any Gnoll born of Wyverndale of appropriate age, with both firm body and mind could potentially become the next Great Chief. It was in this manner that the current Great Chief of Wyverndale was selected and it is thought that he will keep this method of leadership selection intact for the time when the next leader is chosen.

Grey Muzzle himself, while now older, is still living in Wyverndale. While no longer the Great Chief his word is still higly valued and his advice is often sought after.
