I finished BoF1 and now im on to BoF2, so i drew the series recurring snake lady Bleu/Deis. i also bought those chibi Ryu and Nina plushes they are pretty cute

4 and 5 are prequels to the timeline. 5 taking place so far back in time as to not be connected to anything, and 4 is the explanation of how Deis and Ladon/Ryu/The Dragon God came to the world of BoF 1-3. So it doesn't bother me much. What really bothers me is that BoF 6 takes place after 3, is a japan-only no longer supported mobile game, and she didn't show up there.
I knew that 1-3 where a continuation. 2 had that moment where BoF1 Nina told BoF2 Nina that they lost the power of flight when she and Ryu became a couple. Bof 3 had that mural to BoF1, which makes sense cuz they both have the same final boss.
When I looked up refs for Bleu/Deis I read a bit about her in 4 and it was a bit unclear if it was a prequel. They didnt seem to know if she was being summoned for the first time, or if she was being summoned from the world of BoF1-3 and 4 took place in some alternate reality. 5 i really need to play again I really wanna understand how that game works
6 bums me out, it looks so generic and a bit of a Vanillaware game ripoff

4 never clearly states it, so you gotta read between the lines and the connection between Fou Lu and Ryu makes it super clear that at the end of the game they become Ladon/Ryu/The Dragon God that we see in earlier games.
5's placement is just conjecture, but it works as the earliest prequel since all four of the earlier games have areas with an ancient deiselpunk and magitek aesthetic.
