Synaesthesia is a neurological condition that, in layman's terms, crosses your senses; for example, hearing music might make you inexplicably taste vanilla, or numbers might have colours and personalites. It is a condition also associated with psychoactive drugs, ie: acid, psilocybin or 'magic' mushrooms.)
