Nice toon shader work :D
On an unrelated note, what would you reccomend for visible character rig controls in Maya?
I currently used the old-school system of circle-curves to create a simple external controller set, though it's a nightmare to get the feet to rotate left-right with the body.

you should be able to get the feet to rotate with the body by parenting the feet controllers to the global controller that you would use for positioning the entire character. If you're using a reverse foot lock, just parent the root parent of that to the global control. Then you can just use character redirects when you want to rotate the character.
