Portrait by
taasla
Ciara hasn't had the easiest life. She's lived through two wars, and seen everything, and everyone, she ever loved brought to the edge of destruction. She's generally an upbeat, optimistic sort of girl, but she has her moments of doubt and worry just like everyone else.
This is the second portrait that was done for me by
taasla, which goes along with the piece I posted a few days ago. Again, the artist came up with the expression and mood of the piece, and I'm simply choosing to interpret it a certain way.

*giggles softly and winks*
Oh, excuse my horrible mind, but I just couldn't resist... she can find the luck in the form of moonshine very easily, it's still brewed in the backlands of Georgia for instance...
*giggles again and nuzzles*
But aside from that totally corny joke (...oh my, 'corny' joke about corn whiskey... I'm on a roll today!), I have to say that I really like this picture as well. Especially the eyes. I know all too well how hard it can be for even naturally cheerful and upbeat girls to keep looking on the bright side of life, and Ciara especially, with all she has seen and been through, fully deserves her moments of introspection, which is something I think Taasla captured really well in this picture

*Grins* That's okay. I had the same thought, myself. She does come from a country that is totally NOT Ireland, you know so she just might enjoy some once in a while, too. Though in moderation, of course.
And yeah, Taasla really manage to capture a nice sense of wistfulness and maybe even a bit of sadness with this one. I really like both of these portraits, but this one might just be my favorite. Not least because you can really see Ciara's lovely eyes with this one.

Hee hee, yeh, I just couldn't resist... and I do believe you're right, too. After all, when brewed correctly, it can be amazingly tasty, and it could even be a good way for Ciara to relax a bit now and then
I certainly agree, too; this portrait is even more beautiful than the previous one, not only because it shows more of her face, but because it has a much more powerful expression. She is just... contemplative in this one, in a very strong, silent manner

Yeah, I thought it was high time Ciara got the chance to come out and play a little bit more. And now that I have some good references of her I can give to people, you should be seeing more of both my girls. Plus a few more of my other characters, too. And yeah, there are all kinds of places in Oseille I can think of that would fit this image. It's amazing, too, how powerful a simple piece like this can really be. Her eyes alone are so expressive, and I really love that!
