Sweet Pea is a baby Sugar Glider. She is about 3 weeks out of the pouch. She is starting to explore more. =3 Her parents are Bonnie-Kama and Red-Kazi.
I've had sugar gliders about 3 years how. They are not a pet for everyone. They are not like hamsters who you can get from a pet store and handle and play with straight from the cage. They take time and bond your scent. They are hassle. They need attention every night. They are social animals and need a companion/mate to bond with or they will die of stress or depression.
Because of this several sugar glider are unwanted cause people can't figure out how to bond with them. In the 3 year I had sugar gliders I have learned a lot...and I'm still learning. =3

Well they are marsupials so they spend 16 days in the womb then move into the pouch and stay there for 3 months. Once they come out of the pouch it' 4 weeks before she can start eating solids.
As adults they eat mainly fruits, veggie and 40% to 50% protein. I give mine grasshoppers, or crickets. I've heard of them eating mice, lizards and chicks. I have fed mine yogurt and Baby food but it's messy. For treats they get Peanuts or Gerbert Yogurt melts.
They need large cages cause they jump and glide around so they need room to do that. My cages are about 3 feet tall. You can never go to big. For exercise I have a exercise wheel called a Wodent Wheel which they love. It has sandpaper tracks so they can keep their claws worn. They sleep in fleece bags. I even have one with strap and screen window to carry them around with me. It's a way to bond them to me. My favorite method to bond with them is I have a small pup tent I get in with them and let them run around freely and crawl on me.

ok ok heres a big thing im really glad i know since my house is full of freekin animals...sugar gliders are not like most pets, they have a greater sense of picking up emotions from the person who is caring for them. the average sugar glider is very keen and can tell when you have emotional problems. as your problems increase the more the sugar glider start to ignore the person raising it.
sugar gliders are very protective as well when it comes to being harmed. mistreet it even once and it will hate you for the rest if its entire life. if you hurt it by accident care for it until it gives you a response.
and theres your daily tip from L33t! Ciaossu

Been there done that. =3 My favorite had a fatty tumor removed from her back. I was very upset and worried about her but she responded well to me. She hated the vet with a bloody passion =3. Every time any one at vet entered the room when she was recovering she would crab. I have never had any problems with her and the experience has made us bond stronger.
well your lucky me and raju have a problem when it comes to vets...out of the 54 animals i take care of hes the only one that hates the vet. everytime i mention the word he tries to run away but he knows i always catch him. only problem is that hes got a problem with vets don't know why.....
