I know it's a profile (almost) and I know it's a cat (definitely), but it's also a piece of candy (taste).

After putting in some time with quick sketches and gesture exercises, I wanted to treat myself to something nice. A piece of candy. To end on an up note. So I hunted through my vast volumes of pictures, found a tiger, and let myself go crazy. Now I'm passout tired, which means it's time to stop... before I stay up all night.

I learned something today. Or more accurately, I became more familiar with the fact that while some things may appear a certain way in a photograph, it does NOT mean they will look right if you draw them exactly that way. Hard part for me about drawing from reference wasn't drawing what I saw, but learning to channel the essence of what I wanted from the photo, onto the paper.
